Why does the app ask for Location permission?

On Android 11 and lower, the location permission is required by the system in order to perform Bluetooth scans. Starting with Android 12 the location permission is no longer required, since specific permissions for Bluetooth scan and Bluetooth connect are used instead.

The source can be found here.

We don't collect and use your location data for any purpose.

I don't have an account and I use app in offline mode. How can I restore my lost data? How can I transfer my data to a new smartphone?

If you have a registered personal account your data is synced with MedM Cloud and is safety stored there. So you always have access to your data after logging in to your account.

If you use MedM apps without registration, your data is stored locally on your smartphone only. To avoid losing local data forever in case the app is accidentally deleted, your smartphone is lost, or broken, it's recommended to periodically make a smartphone backup to Google Drive on Android OS and to iCloud on iOS. The app local data may be restored only from the last backup. Here is the official source for iOS users how to make back up and restore; and the official source for Android OS users.

Going Online From Offline Mode

If you started using a MedM app in offline mode (without registration) and would like to Go Online in order to make backups and/or to view/share data with other users - go to Menu -> My Profile -> Go Online, then either Sign in with an already existing account or Register a new one. All locally stored data (collected by the app in offline mode) should be transferred to the main health record of the MedM account.

Going Online From Offline Mode For Doctors

Staff accounts (of physicians and nurses) do not have own health records and thus, data collected by the app in offline mode cannot be saved to the cloud. To log in from offline mode such users must do one of the two following things:

  1. Go to health.medm.com portal, log in, from the dropdown menu in the upper right corner select "Account" and change "Category" to "Self-monitoring Physician" and press "Update". Once the account is thus updated, a health record is created and logging in from the app and saving locally stored measurements becomes possible.
  2. Delete and reinstall the app, Sign in with staff credentials on the first screen. Warning: all locally stored health data will be lost.
